Raised among the rugged beauty of Montana’s Rocky Mountains, Doug Robinson has always been inspired by the relationship between people, place, and landscape. After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Montana State University, he began his career in Bozeman, designing distinctive homes that blended seamlessly with their surroundings.

Nearly 20 years ago, Doug made New Zealand his home. First settling in Wānaka, he worked on a wide range of residential and commercial projects before founding fresh_arch in the Nelson Tasman region. Today, his practice continues to reflect his passion for thoughtful, site-responsive design across the South Island.

When he’s not sketching ideas or meeting with clients, you’ll find Doug enjoying the outdoors—whether it’s training for a local sporting event or exploring the trails with his dog. His commitment to balance, both in life and in architecture, shapes every project he takes on.
